Collinsville State High School

September 16, 2021 by admin

Queensland’s smallest stand-alone state high school is situated in Collinsville, approximately 80 kilometres inland from Bowen, North Queensland. Collinsville is located in the northern region of the Bowen Basin, and local industry is based primarily around coal mining, augmented by a rural component. Collinsville State High School services the town and surrounding rural district, providing education to a range of students, from a diverse selection of backgrounds. As a key educational service provider the school has developed wide ranging partnerships with local companies, businesses and other service providers and is an integral part of our local community.

At Collinsville State High School we are committed to striving for excellence in a balanced comprehensive education. Our focus is on improving student achievement through developing an individualistic pathways approach, with high expectations, focused teaching and maximising time dedicated on engaged learning.

About the Collinsville Connect Telecentre

In October 2001, the Collinsville Connect Telecentre opened its doors and invited the community to learn all about the new world of the Internet. 20 years on, the CCT continues to support Collinsville and Scottville residents, local businesses and community groups with IT requirements, education and facilitating community projects.

Funded initially by the Networking the Nation project, the CCT is a not-for-profit community organisation with a mission to ensure every member of the community has access to the online world and the knowledge to navigate the complexities of digital technology.
